...is helping people be the leaders they desire to be in their work and in their lives.
Leadership is something we all need to develop in order to thrive in our work and our lives.
Even before we assume a position of responsibility for others, we need to be aware of how our habits of mind and heart, our narratives and experiences, are shaping the way we manage our daily work and lives.
As our work responsibilities broaden and deepen, the complexity of leading others grows. The starting point of all great leadership is our own self-awareness of who we are and what we want to do in our lives and work, and identifying the capabilities we need to bring our vision to life. We need to commit to developing these capacities, which often require a profound change in how we think, feel and act.
This central principle shapes how I work with all types of leaders, regardless of their career stage or level in the organization: established executives needing to change the strategic direction of their organizations; middle managers stepping into broader leadership roles; individual contributors wanting to become a team leader or better team member; and senior leaders wanting to identify the best time and way of stepping aside to pursue a new life vision..
If we choose to work together, my promise is to understand the uniqueness of your life, situation, gifts and challenges, and to skillfully support you with honesty and compassion as you develop the capacities you need for the leadership you desire.
My 25 year career as an academic leader and professor, together with eight years of working in Japan, fifteen years of teaching Global and Executive MBAs in Spain, and growing up in Mexico and London, have prepared me to work with leaders in many fields and cultures. I look forward to exploring the possibility of working with you.
“Leadership” is wanting to do something new and better, and getting others to go along….What is new and what is better will always depend on context, the nature of the task, and the cultural values that are operating in the group or organization that is doing the work.”
